This Privacy Policy describes how AKNTA LLC ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Kento mobile application ("the App").
Kento is designed with a privacy-first philosophy. The App functions entirely offline, and all data you enter is stored exclusively on your device. We do not operate servers that collect or store your business or customer data.
2. Data Collection
Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The following data is created and stored only on your device and is never transmitted to any server operated by AKNTA LLC:
- Business information (shop name, currency setting)
- Product and inventory data (names, prices, quantities, batches, expiry dates, barcodes)
- Customer information (names, phone numbers, addresses, notes)
- Order and sales history
- Debt and payment records
- User accounts and roles (PIN stored as hashed values only)
- Security questions and answers (stored as hashed values only)
- Audit logs (user actions within the app)
- App settings and preferences
Data We Do NOT Collect
Kento does not access or collect any of the following:
- Personal identification documents
- Biometric data (fingerprint, face recognition)
- GPS or location data
- Browsing history
- Device contacts or call logs
- Photos (except camera-assisted barcode scanning — not stored)
- Microphone or audio data

We take your data security seriously. The following technical measures are in place:
- All data stored locally using an encrypted SQLite database
- PIN codes stored as SHA-256 cryptographic hashes with salt — never in plaintext
- Security question answers stored as one-way hashed values
- Backup files encrypted with AES-256-GCM using PIN-derived keys (PBKDF2)
- Recovery codes stored as hashed values only
- No data transmitted to external servers except Google Play for subscription verification
- No analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs included in the app
5. Third-Party Services
Google Play Billing
The App uses Google Play Billing exclusively for optional premium subscription purchases.
- We receive: Purchase confirmation and subscription status
- We do NOT receive: Payment details or credit card information
- Subject to Google's Privacy Policy
No Other Third-Party Services
- No analytics SDKs (e.g. Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel)
- No advertising SDKs
- No crash reporting services
- No data sharing with any third parties
6. Data Storage & Retention
- All data remains exclusively on your device
- Data persists until you delete it or uninstall the app
- Uninstalling the app permanently removes all app data from your device
- Backup files remain in your chosen storage location until manually deleted
- We have no access to your data and cannot recover it if lost
7. Your Data Control
You have full control over your data at all times:
- Export: Use the in-app backup feature to create encrypted backup files
- Reports: Export reports as PDF, Excel, or CSV files directly from the app
- Delete: Remove individual records or reset the entire app from settings
- Uninstall: Removes all app data permanently from your device
8. Children's Privacy
Kento is designed for business use and is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided data through the app, please contact us at info@aknta.com and we will take appropriate action.
9. International Users
Kento works offline and stores all data locally on your device. No data is transferred internationally, as all data remains on-device. The app supports multiple languages and currencies for international use, making it suitable for businesses worldwide.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your data:
- Right to access your data — available via in-app export
- Right to delete your data — available via in-app deletion and uninstall
- Right to data portability — available via the backup feature
- Right to restrict processing — data is processed locally on your device only
Because all data remains on your device, you have direct control over it at all times without needing to contact us.
